Chocolate Chili Skirt Steak


Sometimes my best ideas for meals come from simply spinning in a circle in the kitchen as I grab different ingredients, and this recipe was a product of exactly that. I really wanted something hearty, deep in flavors and easy for dinner and decided to get a little adventurous with the spices. The result was this incredibly tender, flavorful, and quick steak that immediately became a weekly menu item for my family!

  1. 2 Pkgs US Wellness Meats Inside Skirt Steaks
  1. 1 TBSP Italian Seasoning
  2. 2 tsp Granulated Onion
  3. 1 tsp Granulated Garlic
  4. 1 tsp Paprika
  5. ½ tsp Cumin
  6. 1 tsp Chili Powder
  7. 2 tsp Organic Cocoa Powder
  8. ½ tsp Sea Salt
  9. Freshly Ground Pepper
  10. 1 TBSP Pure Maple Syrup or Raw Honey
  11. 3 TBSP Super Strong Coffee
  1. 1) Mix rub ingredients in a small bowl. Rub steaks with seasonings.
  2. 2) Drizzle steaks with maple syrup or honey.
  3. 3) Place steaks in a large zip top bag, add coffee and squish around to combine.
  4. 4) Grill steaks on high heat, about 2 minutes per side. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  5. 5) Slice against the grain and serve!

  2. Sounds delish! Is it really 2 tsp Granulated Onion and 1 tsp Granulated Onion?

    • Oh geesh, no…thank you so much for bringing that to my attention! Just made the change…2 tsp granulated onion and 1 tsp granulated GARLIC. I must have been in an onion kind of mood when I posted that the first time! 🙂 Thanks again!!
